How to avoid coating damage on metal parts due to collision during the process of assembling outdoor metal flower pots?

Release Time : 2025-07-21
Before assembling outdoor metal flower pots, the protection of metal parts needs to be meticulous and thorough. All parts need to be wrapped separately with polyethylene bags with a thickness of 0.1mm. The bag mouth should be tightened and fixed with tape to prevent friction between parts during transportation or handling. The corners and protrusions should be wrapped with 2 layers of cushioning foam. The width of the foam is 3cm wider than the corners to ensure that the parts prone to collision are fully wrapped. When storing, they should be placed in layers according to the type of parts, and each layer should be padded with 5mm thick rubber pads. The non-slip texture on the rubber pads can reduce the sliding of parts and avoid the wear of the coating caused by stacking and extrusion, which provides basic protection for subsequent assembly.

When assembling outdoor metal flower pots, the selection of tools and the operation method are critical. A wrench with a rubber sleeve should be used. The thickness of the rubber sleeve should not be less than 3mm, which can buffer the force when contacting the parts. When installing bolts, 4 layers of cotton cloth should be padded between the wrench and the parts. The cotton cloth should be flat and wrinkle-free to prevent the wrench from slipping and scratching the coating. For parts that need to be struck, tap them lightly with a nylon hammer. Place a 2cm thick rubber block at the striking point to disperse the force, avoid direct contact between metal tools and outdoor metal flower pot parts, and reduce damage to the coating caused by collision.

The process planning of outdoor metal flower pots assembled flower pots should be scientific to reduce the chance of component collision. Assemble in the order of "base → frame → side panel → decorative parts", first fix large components to form a stable structure, and then install small components. When installing the side panel, two people work together, one person holds the non-coated visible surface of the side panel edge, and the other person fixes it. The supporter wears cotton gloves to avoid slipping and causing the parts to collide with the frame. Before the slender parts pass through the frame, wrap a circle of 1cm wide polytetrafluoroethylene tape on the surface. The tape does not overlap to reduce friction with the frame when passing through and protect the coating.

Handling the connection parts of outdoor metal flower pots assembled flower pots can reduce the risk of collision. Stick 5mm wide masking tape around the bolt hole, and align the edge of the tape with the edge of the hole to prevent the wrench from touching the coating when tightening the bolt. For parts connected by snaps, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the insertion point of the snaps to form a film to reduce friction. Apply force slowly when inserting to avoid collision between the snaps and parts. Before connecting, blow the interface with 0.4MPa compressed air to remove dust and prevent impurities from wearing the coating during assembly.

During the process of outdoor metal flower pots assembled flower pots, the temporary placement of parts should be standardized. Build a workbench with 8mm thick EVA foam board, and the surface of the foam board should be clean and free of debris. The parts should be placed stably, and small wooden blocks should be placed at both ends of the arc parts to prevent rolling and collision. A 12cm high rubber baffle is installed on the edge of the workbench, and the baffle is attached with velvet to avoid hard collision when the parts slide. When pausing assembly, gently cover the parts with dustproof cloth, leaving a 1cm gap between the cloth and the parts to prevent the cloth surface from rubbing the coating.

Targeted protection is required when assembling outdoor metal flower pots under special conditions. When there is strong wind outdoors, first fix the base to the ground, tighten the frame with a windproof rope, and put an 18cm long rubber tube at the contact point between the rope and the frame to prevent the frame from colliding due to wind. Before assembling in humid weather, wipe the surface moisture of the components with a dry cloth, and then wipe it again with a dry cotton cloth to prevent moisture from mixing with dust and wearing the coating. When the temperature is low, preheat the components in a 20℃ environment for 40 minutes, and then assemble them after the coating recovers its toughness to avoid brittle cracking of the coating.

After the assembled flower pots are completed, inspection and repair are essential. Use a 20x magnifying glass to check all connection points and corners. If there are slight scratches, clean them with alcohol cotton pads, apply the same color repair paint, and the paint layer thickness is 25μm. After applying, use a dust-free cloth to gently smooth it. When the coating peels off area is less than 0.5cm², lightly grind the edge with 1000-grit sandpaper, and then repair it according to the above method. Finally, spray the entire surface with 3% concentration of silane protective agent to form a protective film to enhance the damage resistance of the outdoor metal flower pot coating.
